What this does

A photo straight off a phone or a camera is often four thousand pixels wide and several megabytes heavy. Put that on a web page and every visitor downloads all of it, then their browser shrinks it to fit. On a phone on cellular data that is the difference between a page that opens and a page that gets abandoned.

This tool reads your photo, turns it the right way up using the orientation the camera recorded, and writes it out at the widths a website actually uses. It never enlarges a photo, because enlarging cannot add detail that was never captured. The work happens on your own machine, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored.
