How do you look on Google

Twelve questions, two minutes, and an honest grade for the profile most of your customers see first.

1. Have you claimed and verified your Google Business Profile?
2. Are your listed hours correct right now, including holidays?
3. Have you added a photo in the last three months?
4. Do you have at least ten reviews?
5. Have you replied to your recent reviews?
6. When a bad review lands, does it get a calm reply?
7. Have you posted an update in the last month?
8. Are your business categories accurate and specific?
9. Are your services or menu listed on the profile?
10. Do you check the questions and answers section monthly?
11. Does the website link work and match your business name?
12. Are your name, address, and phone identical on your website and your profile?

What this checks

Most people meet your business on Google before they ever open your website. They see a panel beside the search results, or a pin on the map, with your hours, your photos, your reviews and a phone number. Google builds that panel whether you tend it or not, and it decides from it how confident to be about you.

This page walks the twelve things that panel gets judged on. Four are about control: whether you have claimed the profile, whether the categories describe what you actually do, whether your services are listed, and whether your name, address and phone match the ones on your website. Four are about being current: hours that are right today, a photo from this season, an update in the last month, and the questions section checked often enough that you are the one answering.

The last four are about reviews, because that is where a small business is won or lost in public. Having enough of them, replying to them, and handling the bad one calmly are all read by every stranger who comes after.

Nothing here is measured for you and nothing is sent anywhere. You answer honestly, the page adds up the weights, and you get a grade with one plain sentence for every gap, heaviest first.

Questions people ask

Is anything I answer sent anywhere?
No. The grading happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded. If you share the result link, your answers travel inside that link and nowhere else.
What is a Google Business Profile?
It is the panel that appears beside search results and on the map with your hours, photos, reviews and phone number. Google builds one whether you ask for it or not.
Why does this only ask twelve questions?
These are the twelve things that decide whether a stranger calls you or the business next door. A longer list would be more complete and much less likely to get finished.
I got a low grade. Where do I start?
Work down the list in the order it is printed. The heaviest problems are listed first, and each line says why it costs you something.
